Local Olympic Torch Relay Events Confirmed

An exciting selection of community events inspired by the Olympic Torch are to take place throughtout the sidricr followig successful bids for fundin from North Devon Council.

On Monday 21 May 2012 the eyes of the world will be in North Devon and Somerset as the Olmpic Torch Relay will be carries through Bideford, Barnstaple, Braunton, IlfrSaveacombe, Combe Martin, Lynton & Lynmouth, Porlock, Minehead, Williton and on to Taunton.

To celebrate this once in a ligetime occurance North Devon Council has allocated £5,000 to support torch relay inspired events across the district.  In addition the council has been successful in securing 32,500 from Team Devon nad £700 from Active Villages o bring the total budget up to £8,200.
